Thanksgiving 09'

Quite the family-I'm glad my Dad made us gather for this photo:-) Hard to believe this is just the immediate family-no distant relatives here!
Ashlee and Matthew at our house just before they headed back to California. Thier visits always fly by way too fast:-(

My sister and me in my kitchen taken (again) just before they left for home. Yep-just me, my sister and the rice cooker!

Mike and I (and little Rea) at my Dad's house-just before we sat down to eat our Thanksgiving dinner.

My sister the whiz in the kitchen at my Dad's house. She really does know how to get stuff done, even being 7 months pregnant!

Ashlee and Sarah getting ready to set the Thanksgiving dinner table, complete with candles.

Reagan is waiting patiently (kind of) for her turkey dinner. Grandma Candy cooked the turkey in Olive oil rather than butter and it was still delicious, and Reagan could eat it. Everyone wins!

I caught Ryan off guard, and even got a smile out of him!

Sean, Matthew and August on Thanksgiving.

Alyssa and her cousin, Jake, on Thanksgiving. It is so nice to get to see all the cousins playing together.

The Kidz Bounce Party!

Happy Birthday, August-he turned 6!
Not her Birthday, but she had a lot of fun bouncing around while Dad watched her!

Our Princess Alyssa. She had a ton of fun. Her friend Katie came, so she had someone to run around with!

August and one of his party guests-a friend from his class.

Our Nine Year Old-WOW!

August and his friends having a snack of popcorn and candy-followed by cupcakes. I almost felt bad giving the kids SO much sugar. Almost:-)

This is what I got when I told Matthew and his friends to make faces for the photo.

Reagan and her vegan cupcake-we didn't want her to feel left out, and the way she was eying the cupcakes before we pulled out this bad-boy, she wouldn't have been thrilled to receive nothing!

The boys each had thier own table with thier friends, but we had them gather when they blew out the candles on thier cupcakes so we could get this pic.!

Our boys opening their gifts. There were so many kids around them that it was impossible to see them open thier gifts, but I parted the crowd to get this photo. They shared the birthday chair, but I don't think they minded.

Matthew's School Concert November 09'

Matthew and I at his school concert. This was at the end and I just had to get a picture of the two of us, or something up close, as we sat so far back I couldn't get much of anything. Below is an 8 second clip I like to call "Where's Waldo (Matthew)." He was in the back row-center. Do you see him?

A few random pics.

Reagan enjoying her box of animal crackers-I gave up trying to make this face the right way.

Alyssa with her baby Annabel during one of our "photo shoots."
Reagan still enjoying her animal crackers with Britney ready to steal them!

Follow Me!

I am working on a separate blog for my creations so this blog can be more about the family. However, I reserve the right to post whatever I want here:-) Check out Candy Apple Boutique's blog-in-progress at:
www.candyappleboutique.blogspot.com

Please feel free to pass it along to everyone you know, as even though it isn't where I want it to be, I think I will never be 100% ready.
Also, please follow me over there as well (become a follower) so you may post comments easily and freely!

Thanks,
Roxanne

Brighten-Up-The-Snow-Bunny Hat

I came across this yarn and knew that it would make an adorable hat! This hat reminds me of a warm snow hat, but fancier. We get an insane amount of compliments on this hat when Reagan wears it (I made this one for her!).

Cream Hat II

Bird's eye view of the hat-I created a unique stitch to give this hat the above design when viewed from above.

This is the same pattern that I created for the original cream hat, but made with a different yarn. I don't know if it is obvious in the photos, but this yarn is slightly more cream-colored and has a bit more stretch to it than the yarn used in the original cream hat.

Oh-so-soft crocheted winter scarf

I made this scarf for myself, and I love it! It is soft and warm and wintery-perfect for the holiday's!

Trick-Or-Treat!!!

Our Trick-or-Treating crew! Some were fast, some were slow, and some were somewhere in-between!
On Halloween Day, we went and trick-or-treated at the local businesses. This was great because we stayed as a group, and it was easy to see all the other kids in costumes, which is fun!

I had to pose with the kids here because everyone had just gotten into costume, and Reagan was scared of the masks.

August was a Army Guy-in his own words.

Matthew the Alien.

The Alien and Army Man Duo.

Our "Poodle"-in Alyssa's own words.
